Hiking around Lake Geneva and in Switzerland
The Summer is the perfect time to discover the beauty of Lake Geneva and the surrounding region, especially with the many hiking trails in various difficulty levels.
The
32 km-long Hiking Trail Lavaux is marked clearly using red signs. In about 8 or 9 hours, hikers can enjoy the entire extent of this trail, which leads from the Olympic Museum in Ouchy to Château Chillon.
One of the region's most beautiful trails is the Hiking Trail Planachaux – a wonderful hike through the mountain peaks and pastures. In addition, the region has many other simpler trails for families. The "Cubly" varies in difficulty, the "Merdasson" is a shorter trail, and both have breathtaking panorama views.
The Rochers de Naye (cliffs), the Dent de Jaman (mountain) and the Cape au Moine (mountain) are all wonderful sights and have many exciting and interesting hiking trails. A hike through the pastures is a great treat in May, while the narcissus are blooming: climb up Mont Pèlerin and enjoy the Narcissus Trail!
